Now let’s answer the burning question: Why is paint correction so expensive?

Well there are 3 reasons:

1. First and foremost, paint correcton takes TIME. The average paint correction job takes about 6 hours… Crazy right?

2. Paint correction is the process of removing fine layers of damaged clear coat from your car. Sounds risky, right? It can be, and that means we have to be very careful and very diligent to ensure we manage every risk.

3. And finally, in order to perform paint correction properly we put ourselves through some serious training. In fact, we spent about 90 days going through the most reputable online paint correction and ceramic coating training there is! Not to mention all of the practice that followed… So at the end of the day, we are also charging for our expertise (and we think we’re pretty good :)

What Is Paint Correction?

Because we are detailers, we’re tempted to get into the nitty gritty of what paint correcton is, why it’s the 9th wonder of our Pensacola auto detailing business, but we don’t want to bore you! Paint correction is the process of slowly wearing down the surface of your car’s clear coat until all of the surface-level damage is completely gone or sufficiently concealed.

Paint correction has 2 jobs:

1. Healthy, glossy, and slick paint

2. Preparation for long term paint protection (like a ceramic coating 😊)

There are 2 major types of paint correction… Paint Enhancement & Paint Correction:

What is Paint Enhancement?

Here’s the simple answer: Paint enhancement is a less extreme form of paint correction. When we perform paint enhancement, we are telling the customer what paint imperfections WILL be fixed, and what imperfections WILL NOT be fixed. Paint enhancement is the most common type of correction we do! Why is that? Well, most customers don’t care about the tiny imperfections that they really can’t see anyway, and they are really concerned most with getting that ceramic coating on!

What is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is nothing more than more aggressive paint enhancement. Can you see the pattern here? When we are dealing with a vehicle whose paint is REALLY DAMAGED, or a customer who has a detailed eye, we will perform paint correction in order to remove the maximum amount of scratches, swirls, etchings, and paint imperfections as possible. Once again, this is necessary not only for visual appeal, but to create a smooth surface with which the ceramic coating can bond to the paint.
